The public is invited for coffee and birthday cake to celebrate Deschutes County Centennial Day on December 13, 2016 from 11 am to 1 pm.

On December 13, 1916, after years of heated debate, Governor James Withycombe issued a proclamation creating Deschutes County from portions of Crook County, a move approved by voter majority in the November 1916 election.

Our brief Centennial Day ceremony will include a scene from our centennial play, “Faces of the Deschutes,” and a round of Centennial trivia to win something from the Museum gift shop.
