The Central Oregon chapter of OSU Master Gardeners™ present Winter Garden Preparation: Putting Your Beds To Bed. This class answers when and how to prepare your garden for winter. The class looks at median frost dates, microclimates and pruning basics. The class covers when to harvest and how to store or preserve certain crops, and how to keep a journal. Feeding the soil, mulching and weeding prepares the garden for next year’s crops. The class offers some strategies for how to help tender plants and perennials survive the snow and ice of our Central Oregon winter. This class will be outdoors so please dress for the weather.
