Sean Ferraro grew up in California with a lifelong love of animals and especially horses. She had a menagerie of pets growing up and began drawing and painting at a very early age.
She graduated with an associate of science from Fresno City College and a bachelor of science in criminology from Fresno State University. But, she has always enjoyed creating art throughout her life, as a self taught artist.
She has lived a country life for most of her adult life; loving her free time with her horses, dogs and cats—and other occasional animals. At various times in her life, she has had goats, chickens, rabbits and other livestock. Ferraro is an avid and accomplished equestrian, who has shown, bred and trained Arabian horses for well over 30 years.
Today, she works part time for her husband, who is a professional show dog handler, and as a fulltime fine artist, free lance graphic artist, photographer and web designer. She loves to create portraits of people, especially children, animals, especially horses and western art. She brings many years of experience from the corporate realm, public service and animal husbandry fields to her studio.
Ferraro works exclusively in the simple and basic mediums of graphite, colored pencil, watercolor and scratchboard for her fine art. And yet, she achieves amazing detail with these basic mediums. Simple mediums that capture the essence of light and dark, and the complex personalities of the subjects are the prominent features of her work.
She still enjoys her country life, horses and other pets on her small acreage ranch in Central Oregon.
