TMP lives up to its name once again with a modern dark comedy with very interesting subject matter opening November 9.
Together with 2nd Street Theater and Stage Right Productions, TMP brings a Tony Award Winning Musical to life during a heated election season.
Assassins, written by Stephen Sondheim, portrays history’s most famous presidential assassins from John Wilkes Booth to John Hinckley and gives a comedic, yet substantial look into their twisted minds and what drove them to their acts.
“It takes a hard look at what the American Dream really is and invites the audience to define their own version of it” says director David DaCosta. “This musical is truly exceptional in its ability to traverse political parties and prove that some things are felt universally by all Americans regardless of what side they are on. I think that is the message we all need right now as so many people are divided at the ballots this November.”
The musical showcases amazingly written music that is catchy, haunting and incredibly complex. The cast is complied of Central Oregon’s most talented and experienced musicians and features many local favorites such as Brad Ruder, David Finch, Karen Sipes and Clinton K. Clark.
