Sisters Art Works is displaying some of the artwork donated for My Own Two Hands. The annual fundraiser provides funding for Sisters Folk Festival Inc.’s (SFF) educational outreach program, the Americana Project and other SFF programs. Donations are plentiful and varied, providing an interesting cross-section of mediums from paintings to ceramics, woodworking, photographs and sculptures.

Some of the contributing artists include Skip Armstrong, Janice Druian, Glen Corbett, Danae Bennett-Miller, Laurence Dyer and Mary Jo Weiss. Highly collected Native artists Lillian Pitt and Rick Bartow will also have art up for auction.

Some of the student art in the show will be featured in the My Own Two Hands art auction. “We’re so grateful for the generosity of the students and adults in our community,” said Development Director, Katy Yoder.

The My Own Two Hands art donations will be at Sisters Art Works and eventually, some will be transported to local businesses where they will be on display during the April 12, art stroll. Proxy bidding will be accepted this year.

The theme for this year’s event is Deep Roots, chosen to reignite some of the original intentions of the event and celebrate the deep roots that keep the community strong and vibrant.
The Sisters Art Work, 204 W. Adams Ave. open 9am-5pm Monday through Friday until April 12. On April 15, Hadley McCann will feature his photography.
