Being a native Oregonian, Kristy Stone lived on a farm or ranch the majority of her life involved with horses, cattle and dogs.
Stone and her husband currently live in Redmond raising Corrientte roping cattle, three horses, two dogs and a cat. She receives inspiration from her enjoyment of spring calving, weaning and branding in the fall, giving her opportunity to take her own photos which are primarily used for her work. “My gift to do art came from my father, a talented man,” Stone says.
Over the years Stone has attended several art shows, winning honors. She has been published in newspaper and magazines, having pieces used for event themes such as the Crooked River Round-Up Prineville Rodeo poster and Horses and Art magazine.
Stone has artwork pieces on the west and east coast, as well as in New Zealand. Currently she is working on having a life-size bronze of a bareback rider and horse placed in the city of Redmond or Deschutes County.
Kristy Stone is showing at Ambiance Art Co-op in Redmond. www.ambianceartco-op.com, 541-548-8115.
