The competition involves 24 choruses in a Sweet Adeline regional competition that includes ensembles from Oregon, Northern California Hawaii. In preparation, Bella will be performing a Send Off Show at 2pm on April 18 at the Bend Senior Center.
Special Guests include UpBeat! Sound Affaire quartets Summit High School’s Skyliner Jazz Girls. Bella’s director, Connie Norman, is excited about having the high school ensemble in the program; “One of Bella’s missions is to establish a Young Women in Harmony program for students interested in a cappella singing. This is our first step on that path we’re thrilled to have the Skyliner Jazz Girls on stage at our show.”
Bella Acappella Harmony is an award-winning performing competitive chorus, a member of Sweet Adelines International, a non-profit organization the parent chorus of Harmony4women. It was chartered in the spring of 2012 has 28 members who travel from Sisters, Redmond, Sunriver Bend for weekly rehearsals at the Bend Sr Center. Their 2nd competition last year earned them a third place medal in Division A Small Chorus. Proceeds from the Send Off Show help offset the costs of competition.
