A Central Oregon celebration of the harvest season, the Bank of the Cascades Bend Fall Festival presented by The Source Weekly returns to Downtown Bend for its 24th year October 2-4. A much-loved tradition, the festival will bring two stages of free music, family activities, fine art, a conscious living space, food and beverages, fall-themed contests and more.
“The soul of our festivals is bringing the vital spirit of art and artisans, musicians, families, food, and festive fare to the streets of Downtown Bend” says Cameron Clark, owner of C3 Events. “The Bank of the Cascades Bend Fall Festival is our favorite, celebrating the pristine nature of fall, harvest and coming together around warmth, comfort and friendship.”

ShireenAmini is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose colorful brand of acoustic soul melds multicultural influences with raw, powerful, and humorous expression. The passion and playfulness of her spirit comes through the rich tone of her voice, often compared to that of Tracy Chapman and Gloria Estefan. You can count on infectious grooves and a hint of Latin flavor to be consistently present in the stylistic nuances of her guitar-playing, singing, and occasional percussive breakdowns.

Saturday, October 3
11am Sarah Jackson Holman
It is literally from out of the blue that pianist/singer-songwriter Sara Jackson-Holman was launched onto the national music scene. For the then 20 year-old Whitworth University piano and writing student from Bend, Oregon, nothing could have prepared her for the trajectory her life was about to take; propelling her from student life, to recording her first CD, to hearing her sons played in tv shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Bones, Pretty Little Liars, Orange is the New Black, Hemlock Grove, 90210, The Fosters, The Ringer, Chelsea Settles, and more.
1pm Tim Snider
The Tree, the Eagle, the Lion, and the Light. Sounds like the beginning to a good fairytale but in fact it was a series of dreams that Tim’s mom had about his new band which lead to the name the T.E.L.L. which brings a powerful gospel and regal presence to Tim’s world-folk sound. All in all the Tell brings an experience that will lift you up and take you to another place.
3pm Possessed By Paul James
Possessed by Paul James is originally from Florida, and was born into a Mennonite family. He gives credit to his parents for instilling the value of service to others and when Konrad Wert morphs into the performer Possessed by Paul James, the medium may change, but the desire to make a difference in people’s lives doesn’t. Many witnesses to the Possessed By Paul James show referring to it as more of a life-altering experience than a simple one-man music show.
5:30pm Roseland Hunters
Hailing from Portland Oregon, the ROSELAND HUNTERS brings a fresh New Orleans Funk Inspired sound to the West Coast. With a lineup of amazing musicians, they are truly a force to be reckoned with.
8:30pm Kalimba, The Spirit of Earth Wind and Fire
Kalimba, The Spirit of Earth Wind and Fire is considered by some as being the best Tribute to Earth Wind and Fire in the country. Kalimba is a 10 piece group with full horn section, performing the hits including but not limited to, Shining Star, That’s the Way of the World, Devotion, Sing a Song, Can’t Hide Love, Getaway, Fantasy, Love’s Holiday, September, Boogie Wonderland”, After the Love Has Gone and Let’s Groove just to name a few. As Sheldon Reynolds, former Earth Wind and Fire guitarist (87-01) puts it “out of 1000 other bands that I have heard play this material, Kalimba is the first band that gets it like it’s supposed to be played”. Kalimba is a treat for the eyes and ears, and has a true passion for the music, and they look forward to spreading the message of Earth Wind and Fire to the masses..
Sunday, October 4
11am Tyler Stenson
Tyler Stenson is an ‘Elegant Folk’ singer/songwriter, drawing comparison to songwriter greats such as Cat Stevens, James Taylor and Ryan Adams. On the national stage, Stenson has received impressive praise from the top tier of the music industry. As a multi-song finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, Stenson has proven he’s not just another ‘guy and his guitar’ — his foundational belief that ‘lyric is king’ sets him apart as a true artist worth getting to know.
1pm Tony Smiley
3pm CORNER
CORNER, may very well be the epitome of a “working class” band. The group formed when all members found themselves working at the same restaurant in 2012. Their sound swings from eerie folk rock to western pop ballads wrapped in tight punchy melodies. The sisters deliver tongue in cheek lyrics while playing up their sometimes smoky-sometimes sweet harmonies. Influences also include roots rock, blues and Americana.
LOCALS ONLY STAGE:
Friday, October 2:
5pm Juju Eyeball
Juju Eyeball is a Beatles cover band in beautiful Bend Oregon
6:30pm Dyslexic Prophets
The Dyslexic Prophets were born to preach the gospel of the song. The equal importance placed upon both words and music highlights the desire to bring truth down from the mountain. The Dyslexic Prophets are not a jam band, but rather a band that can jam. The soothsaying foursome are equally at home with acoustic honeydew, thumping soul and penetrating rock n roll. Guitar, keyboard, bass and drum wizardry is the order of the day as they take from the past to shine a light on the future.
8pm Thomas and the Blue Chips
Professional Blues Singer and Bassist with Professional Band based in Bend Oregon
9:30pm Wilderness
Bend Oregon based Wilderness is a band dancing somewhere between the lines of rock n roll, folk, and experimental-noise-pop… If there is such a thing… Appropriately described by the Bulletin’s music editor, Ben Salmon, as a “..north-of-the-border version of Southwestern roots act Calexico, or an earthbound take on Explosions in the Sky’s celestial jams, …or Wilco indulging their ragged edge. With an experimental streak that occasionally runs the stop sign.” Band members Bradley David Parsons (drums), Nick “Sassy” Graham (bass), Nora K.W. Smith (keys, vocals, noise makers) and Jared Nelson Smith (guitars, vocals, buttons) together create a wholly unique sound that not only invites but challenges and inspires. An energetic, and sometimes chaotic live show that’s as dynamic as it is engaging, Wilderness is just as the name implies, not only a quiet place to reflect, but the unknown, the edge, the other side of the line.

Collectively, this multi-generational group of seasoned musicians dish out a well-honed brew of spirited music, both traditional and original. Finished off with layers of tightly woven harmony vocals, the band creates a sound that is infectious and fun. Bordering on the boisterious, their sound hearkens back to the old-world pubs of Europe.
