November 2, 2016 – BEND, OREGON – Cascade Publications Inc. announces the release of the fifth issue of Bend Fashion Quarterly (BFQ), a fashion and lifestyle magazine reflecting the trends of the High Desert.
In this issue, BFQ explores the theme of gratitude in ways that reflect the lifestyle trends central to Oregon. Teaming up with Zanté, BFQ launched a change a life makeover which gave Brittany Jones, a young, single mother of three, a chance at a new start. With a complete makeover and a new wardrobe, read about Brittany’s incredible journey as she finds the balance between motherhood and finishing her college degree.
Chelsea Callicot shares the stories of those giving back to the community, including Gwenn Wysling of the Bethlehem Inn and Redmond powerhouse Angela Boothroyd. Art Director Magdalena Bokowa unearths the women behind wearable art and delves into the world of nuno felting, leather working, weaving, silver smithing and organic cotton wear. She also shares her holiday gift guide with items that are sure to please everyone on your list this holiday season. BFQ believes in supporting local, and you’ll see that represented in both the gift guide section and our collegiate fashion trail where students modeled designs from local artists at Spoken Moto.
Cover model Sarah Drake, founder of Wedgis — a portable pouch that houses swimwear — kicks off the recreate with style section, which also focuses on innovative local companies like Cairn, Zealios, Black Crater Clothing, Ripclear, New Growth and Opal Outdoors while Dave McCrae speaks about the exhilarating experience of backcountry skiing and gives tips on how to stay safe.
BFQ also salutes cancer survivors and fighters, with stories from Katy Yoder, Stephanie O’Brien of She’s Happy Designs and Samantha Warner who is currently undergoing treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. We profile the Love Campaign where 100 percent of profits go to help Warner and her family with living and medical expenses.
Rounded out with a dedicated section to women and their trucks, March for Babies and the Rubbish Renewed Eco Fashion Trail, BFQ is filled to the brim with quality content central to our communities’ lifestyle choices.
Pamela Hulse Andrews, BFQ founder and publisher notes, “We wanted to share with our readers the outstanding people who make up the High Desert communities. Over the past few months, the writers and photographers for BFQ have been uncovering unique styles, novel trends and powerful stories about gratitude, bravery, creativity and diversity.”
We aspire for you to experience the same gratitude we felt while producing BFQ – it is our hope to inspire you this holiday season.
