Committed to quality art education and play, the Bend Park and Recreation District is continuing the Art Station and its operations and will begin classes again on October 27.
Programs feature a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, printing, sculpture, jewelry, glass arts, ceramics, pottery, textiles and mixed media.
The Bend Park and Recreation District worked quickly to restart Art Station programs that were previously offered by Arts Central when the not-for-profit organization closed in late summer.
The District was a partner of Arts Central for 13 years, offering art recreation and education for children and adults at the Art Station, and will continue the legacy of providing quality art programs and instructors for youth and adults.
“Our goal is to help individuals pursue their passions – in whatever ways those recreation opportunities speak to them,” said Sue Boettner, recreation manager, Bend Park and Recreation District. “For many members of our community, arts and culture are their passion and we want to foster that.”
The November and December programs for adults, youth and families are online at a new Art Station webpage. Program registration is available now.
The District will also offer art parties and group events at the Art Station. More information is at a new Art Parties webpage: http://www.bendparksandrec.org/recreation_programs/art-station/art-parties/.
Winter-spring recreation programs will offer a full schedule of art programs, and registration will open December 12 for programs starting in January and running through May.
