The High Desert Museum announces that Kids Camp Summer Camp 2022 registration will be executed as a lottery, a random drawing of all parents who register their children. New system, same wonder-inspiring summer camps!
Here are some important details:
- Registration opens Thursday, February 17 at 6am and closes Sunday, February 27 at 11:59pm. At the time of registration opening, a button will go live on the Kids Camp webpage linking you to the registration form.
- Registrants have an equal chance of being selected regardless of when they register within those dates.
- While caregivers may request multiple weeks of camp, children may not have multiple lottery entries — each child may appear in only one entry.
- Caregivers will be notified by Monday, March 7 via email whether or not their child(ren) have been selected for the desired camp dates. Once registration status is confirmed, caregivers must provide payment by Friday, March 18 at 12pm or the registration will be forfeited.
The High Desert Museum is moving to a lottery for summer camp registration in a dedicated effort to make it a more equitable system for all families. All caregivers will have an equal chance of getting their child in a camp regardless of factors like internet capability.
More news! We are now requiring all Kids Camp participants ages 5 and older to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or show a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival at camp. All staff and teen volunteers must also meet these requirements. Read more about this new vaccination policy.
