(Summer Stop, acrylic on canvas by Brad Earl)
Art that sparks imagination and nostalgia awaits at the Flying Horse Gallery in Sisters, where April cover artist Brad Earl and his daughter, Sloane Earl, bring their unique visions to life through paintings that delve into whimsical concepts that blend reality with wishful dreams.
Brad has been painting for over 26 years and describes his work as imaginative realism. His background as an architect is evident in his street scenes and iconic landmarks where he takes inspiration from old diners, theatres and vintage objects that evoke a sense of nostalgia. He combines his knowledge of structure with his aesthetic for color and light to create a call back to moments and objects in life that elicit a warm memory, a sense of connection.
Sloane’s oil paintings reflect her early professional background as a creature artist in the movie and gaming industry. Her whimsical woodland creatures, her powerful Warrior Women and her recent introduction of “UFO-themed” sightings in the Western wilderness, all emphasize her world of fantasy and exploration.
Both artists accept commissions.
