Cascade School of Music has exp ed their Early Childhood program to include twenty-five Kindermusik classes for infants through seven year olds their parents or caregivers. Licensed Kindermusik instructors, Amy James Barbara Hogstad, will begin teaching classes at the school starting September 16. In addition, Cascades School of Music will host free demo days September 9-12.
As a former grade school teacher, James used music in the classroom to create an engaging learning environment, aid in transitions help teach history, math grammar. In 2005, she became a licensed Kindermusik instructor has educated more than 200 Central Oregon parents children on the joy role music plays in the early development of every child. She holds a master’s degree in early childhood teaching is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children the Early Childhood Music Movement Association.
Through her college background in Recreation Administration Early Childhood Education, Hogstad pursued positions where she was able to include music her love for children. This has included being a preschool teacher, a camp director a mother of four sons. Hogstad has a gift for creating a fun safe environment for children their parents where they can express themselves through music movement.
