The public is invited for coffee and birthday cake to celebrate Deschutes County Centennial Day on December 13, 2016 from 11am to 1pm.
On December 13, 1916, after years of heated debate, Governor James Withycombe issued a proclamation creating Deschutes County from portions of Crook County, a move approved by voter majority in the November 1916 election.
The brief Centennial Day ceremony will include a scene from our centennial play, Faces of the Deschutes and a round of Centennial trivia to win something from the Museum gift shop.
