StarsOver Newberry Live Auction

Discover Your Forest would like to invite Central Oregon artists to submit their artistic representations of iconic Deschutes and Ochoco National Forest landscapes and Newberry National Volcanic Monument to be featured and auctioned off at a fundraising event in September.

The first ever, Stars Over Newberry fundraiser will be held on September 19 at the top of Lava Butte. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Discover Your Forest, the non-profit partner of the Central Oregon national forests and grassland.

Artists have the option to receive a 50 percent consignment of the auction sale price (100 percent donations of sale proceeds are tax deductible), two complimentary tickets to the Stars Over Newberry Event (a $100 value), name, bio and CV or Resume on display alongside painting during event, and name listings in printed program, website, social media and marketing materials.

Paintings must be depictions of scenes from the Newberry National Volcanic Monument and/or the Deschutes or Ochoco National Forests. Submissions must be original works, and must be completed and submitted by September 8, 2015 to Discover Your Forest Volunteer and Event Coordinator, Stacey Cochran, at the Bend Fort-Rock Ranger District Office at 63095 Deschutes Market Road, Bend, OR 97701.

In partnership with the US Forest Service, Discover Your Forest provides free educational programming for over 6,000 school children annually throughout the Deschutes and Ochoco National Forests.  In addition, Discover Your Forest supports over 2,000 volunteers in the Deschutes National Forest and interacts with over 200,000 visitors per year.  Funds raised at this event will go directly to supporting programs and visitor services on the Deschutes National Forest.
