“New Earth”: Art as a Response to Climate Crisis – Daniela Naomi Molnar
Embark on an artistic journey with Daniela Naomi Molnar as she introduces her ongoing project, “New Earth.” Molnar, an accomplished artist, poet, and pigment worker, captures the shapes of newly exposed ground near glaciers—a poignant result of climate change. In her talk, Molnar will discuss the metaphorical wounds represented in her art and the critical awareness they evoke. “New Earth” transcends traditional representations of climate facts, inviting emotional, psychological, and spiritual engagement with the consequences of climate change. Molnar’s intentional use of abstract maps drawn from NASA satellite imagery creates a sensory space for experiencing a range of emotions, from grief and fear to wonder.
