About this location:
This late afternoon concert will take place at Fort Rock State Natural Area in Fort Rock, Oregon. Towering above the sagebrush desert, the Fort Rock caldera was once a volcano that erupted under an inland sea. Waves lapping against the rock created caves that housed a shoe ‘factory’ where anthropologist Luther Cressman discovered an ancient collection of ten-thousand year old sandals in 1938. The piano will be situated in the open area on the eastern side of the bowl, slightly below the site of our past concerts. Concert check-in opens at 3:00 pm, and the performance begins at 4:00 pm.
Come early for a visit to the Fort Rock Valley Historical Homestead Museum (ticket included with your purchase), a collection of original homestead era buildings including a church, school, houses, homestead cabins, and several other structures in a village setting.
After the concert, follow Hunter down to the Fort Rock Grange for our 2nd annual Pie Social and “Barn” Dance featuring live country & folk music by Wampus Cat! Pie & ice cream will be available for a $5 suggested donation, with all profits going to benefit the Fort Rock Grange and their community activities.
