It’s a free pass for everyone Saturday, January 25.
Central Oregon’s iconic museum is offering free admission thanks to a sponsorship by Mid Oregon Credit Union.
Mid Oregon Family Free Day is a rare opportunity to enjoy the amazing wildlife, artful exhibits and meaningful history of the High Desert Museum at no cost.
“This is always a very fun and busy day for us,” said Dana Whitelaw, VP of programs. “We have wildlife talks running continually throughout the day, as well as exhibit tours, hands-on activities for kids and many interesting historic characters to meet. And if you haven’t been to the museum in awhile you’ll see we have two new exhibits, Woven With Tradition: Plateau Indian Bags, and Frontier Firearms: Stories of Survival and Defense.
The Museum is open from 10am to 4pm, including the Rimrock Cafe and Silver Sage Trading Store. Note: Parking is limited, a free shuttle is offered from the Morning Star Christian School parking lot to the Museum and back all day. 19741 Baker Road. See website for details.
The “Free Family Saturday” complimentary admission program supports the educational mission of Mid Oregon Credit Union by providing the community with the opportunity to explore wildlife and living history right in Central Oregon’s backyard.
If you miss it, the event will be repeated on February 22.
