High Desert Museum / Waterston Desert Writing Prize Co-Sponsor Workshop
Acclaimed creative writing teacher and author John Calderazzo, Emeritus Professor at Colorado State University, will conduct a free creative writing workshop titled “How to Find the Stories That Float Around Us All the Time, Everywhere,” Wednesday, June 28, 3-4:15pm at the High Desert Museum, Bend. The workshop, co-sponsored by the High Desert Museum and the Waterston Desert Writing Prize, is part of the celebration of the 2017 winner and finalists of the Prize, who will be honored at an award event, also June 28 at the Museum, starting at 6pm. The workshop is limited to 20 participants so early registration is encouraged. Click here to register for the workshop.
Calderazzo states, “This will be a high-energy workshop designed to generate fresh writing in a variety of genres. This will be prompt-based and desert-inspired, so come ready to write!”
In addition to leading the workshop, Calderazzo will participate in a panel discussion, “A Desert Conversation,” along with noted environmental advocate and author Kathleen Dean Moore, as part of the award ceremony. The award event is free and open to the public, and pre-registration is required. Click here to reserve for the award reception and ceremony.
