Strut your dog amongst fellow animal lovers and join in the fun contests on September 15.
The Humane Society of Central Oregon’s Mutt Strut and More will be a howling good time for participants and spectators and it benefits the homeless animals in our community. Registration forms at www.hsco.org, the shelter, HSCO Thrift Store at 5th & Greenwood and Paws & Shop in the Old Mill Marketplace. Day-of registration begins at 9am.
All canines and their human companions are invited to participate in the 1.3 mile walk along the scenic Deschutes River and enter fun contests. See who the crowd crowns top dog in best costume, best kisser, best dog trick, best tail wag and owner-dog look alike contests. Visit with vendors and learn to play Frisbee with your dog from Skyhoundz World Championship competitors. There will be an optional short walk along the river for seniors, disabled and anyone who prefers a shorter route.
Enter the Mutt Strut as an individual ($20), Dog Pack (5-9 human-dog teams, $100) or Puppy Posse (10-20 human-dog teams, $200). Mutt Strut is free for those twelve years and younger. The top human-dog that fetches the most sponsorship donations will win an iPad2. Registration includes Mutt Strut dog bandana and goody bag. Participants who raise $75 and more will receive a T-shirt. Prizes will be given to top fundraising individual and teams.
The fun event is free to spectators who can enjoy vendors showcasing their products and services. Vendor space is still available.
All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Central Oregon’s programs to help the people and animals in our community. For more information visit www.hsco.org or call 541.330.7096.
