OperaBend Presents Verdi’s Masterpiece La Traviata in Bend

OperaBend proudly announces the upcoming presentation of Giuseppe Verdi’s timeless opera, La Traviata, captivating audiences with its poignant narrative paired with a modern interpretation. The production will take place at Pinckney Center for the Arts at Central Oregon Community College from April 19 to April 21, 2024.

La Traviata tells the compelling story of love, sacrifice and redemption, set against the backdrop of glamorous Parisian society. Audiences will be transported to a world of passion and drama as they follow the tragic tale of Violetta and her lover Alfredo, torn between the heart’s desires and the expectations of society.

This spectacular production features an ensemble of exceptional talent, including principal performers Allison Pohl (Violetta Valéry), Katherine Goforth (Alfredo Germont), Zachary Lenox (Giorgio Germont), Jocelyn Claire Thomas (Flora Bervoix), Dan Gibbs (Marquis d’Obigny), Samantha Winter (Annina), Jason Stein (Gastone de Letorières), and Adrian Rosales (Baron Douphol). Their captivating portrayals will bring Verdi’s characters to life with depth and emotion, leaving a lasting impression on all who attend.

Under the direction of Jason Stein, audiences can expect an emotionally resonant performance that modernizes the spirit Verdi’s masterpiece. The production is further enriched by the skillful orchestral leadership of Maestro Michael Gesme and opera chorus comprised of talented local performers, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all in attendance.
