Cake and books are always a good combo, especially when it’s to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of Paulina Springs Books in Sisters. Story by Jeff Spry
This Saturday from 3pm to 7pm join fellow bibliophiles for a book bash two decades in the making. There will be cake, punch, surprise door prizes and live Americana roots music by local folk favorites, The Anvil Blasters. Look for sweet deals in all categories of books all week long: cooking, nature, biography, young readers and more.
Paulina Springs opened in June of 1992 by original owners Dick Sandvik and Diane Campbell who will be on hand for friends to stop by and say hello. Brad Smith bought the popular independent book dealer in 2003 and he’s hoping for many more years serving the community with great reads and more special events.
“I want to thank everyone for their loyalty and support over the years that enabled us to be here for this long,” he said.
Longtime employee Sue Tank has been with the store from the start and has seen it evolve into a one-stop booklover’s gathering spot for all Central Oregon.
“What impresses me most is the amazing support shown Paulina Springs and keeping independent book sellers alive and well,” she said. “With our schedule of author talks and readings it’s become a fun place to meet and share our customer’s passion for books and this party is our small way of saying thanks.”
Paulina Springs Books is located at 252 West Hood Ave. in Sisters. For more info go online at www.paulinasprings.com or call 549-0866.
