Do you relish robots, comic-books and zombies? Join Pegasus Books on Saturday, March 26 from 2-4pm as they welcome Daniel H. Wilson, Ph.D roboticist, Hollywood screenwriter, DC comic-book writer and New York Times best-selling author of the sci-fi novel Robopocalypse and its sequel, Robogenesis, currently being adapted for film by Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks.
The Portland writer is known for his humorous How-To guides, Where’s My Jetpack?, How to Build a Robot Army and How to Survive a Robot Uprising, as well as several anthologies, including Robot Uprisings and Press Start to Play. In addition to his many popular prose works, Wilson writes Earth 2: Society, an ongoing comic book series from DC Comics. His original pandemic thriller graphic novel, Quarantine Zone was released by DC Comics on March 22.
Wilson’s bold futurist work ranges from hilarious to horrifying, and manages to tap into nostalgia while also being something completely original. His writing has been compared to Isaac Asimov (I, Robot) and Ernest Cline (Ready Player One), and like those authors, Wilson has something to offer both to hardcore science fiction fans and casual readers alike. This is a free event and open to all ages.
Pegasus will have several of his works for sale at the time of the signing, including copies of Robogenesis and Earth 2: Society #1, among others. They’re asking that everyone joining the party to make a purchase before entering the signing line, however anyone will be allowed to bring additional copies of Wilson’s work they may already own for a maximum of three signed items per person. Signatures are free as is your memorable time with one of the geek world’s most engaging talents.
