A limited number of All-Event Early-Bird Passes for the 20th Anniversary of the Sisters Folk Festival go on sale November 3. Truly, “all the town’s a stage” with 10 venues and three days of the best in American music, from blues to bluegrass.
“In our 20th year celebration, we are looking to honor our past while looking ahead to the future, said Creative Director Brad Tisdel. We believe we have been successful in presenting traditional folk music and great songwriters, while continuing to bring in fresh acts that are on the rise. Our audience includes everyone from Americana Project students, to patrons that have come every year since 1995. We will continue to surprise folks with our bookings, hoping to expand the definition and genre of “Folk.” For 2015 you can look forward to a few acts that have been well received in the past, but there will certainly be some exciting new talent as well.”
The Sisters Folk Festival celebrates great artists in diverse and intimate settings that showcase the beauty of Sisters and Central Oregon. Tisdel says, “we recognize the importance of providing outstanding venues where our patrons experience world-class music. In this light, we will be working with each of our venue partners to enhance the experience, and are considering at least one new venue to accommodate growth and enable us to sell a few more tickets. We will be intentional about keeping the ‘all the towns a stage feel’ so everyone can enjoy the Festival experience more than ever.”
“Last year we sold over 1,000 Early Bird passes. We are limiting the number of discounted passes to only 500 so that we can keep prices the same as last year, said Managing Director Ann Richardson. We want to keep passes affordable and the Festival accessible to everyone. You can expect to see the free stage at Fir Street Park again next year and of course the Sunday morning community celebration is always open to the public.”
Five hundred All-Event Passes will be sold at the discounted price of $95 for adults or $45 for students. Passes will go to the regular price of $120 once those 500 are gone. Starting November 3, passes can be purchased online at sistersfolkfestival.org/tickets. Phone orders and walk-in ticket sales will be accepted starting at 9am that day. The Folk Festival office is located in Sisters at 204 W. Adams Avenue, Suite 204 or call the office at 541-549-4979.
