Few local events are anticipated more every summer than the annual Festival Faire – the grand kick-off of the Sunriver Music Festival. A hosted happy hour, celebrity musicians, a superb four-course meal, entertainment from talented young artists, and a lively auction continue to make this a special Central Oregon treat for people that adore classical music.
“It is truly a festival for the senses,” explains executive director Pam Beezley. “We fill Sunriver’s historic Great Hall with fine food and wine, musical entertainment, andan auction of impressive original artwork and more. It is our signature fundraiser and it allows us to continue presenting a world-class musical experience for Central Oregon residents and visitors.”
This memorable event begins at 4:30pm with a hosted happy hour and a chance to meet conductor and artistic director George Hanson. Fine wines and an elegant four-course dinner, prepared exclusively by Sunriver Resort award-winning chefs, will delight your palate.
To entertain your ears, live performances are provided by the extremely talented 2016 Young Artists Scholarship winners. A live and silent auction of highly desirable items such as, vacations, special dinners, unique experiences, and original art will round out the evening. Each year the highlight of the evening is the auctioning off of the 2016 Sunriver Music Festival poster art, valued at $3,240 this year.
All proceeds from the evening directly support the Festival’s 39th season and Young Artists Scholarships. This year’s musical season runs from August 7 – 18.
