Saturday, May 12, bring your dirty car and treasure hunting skills to Sisters High School’s Classic Car Wash & Yard Sale from 8am-5pm.
The good clean fun event is a fundraiser for the Chinese Studies class and their upcoming trip to China this summer. A big rummage sale will take place at the Sisters Community Church parking lot near The Hangar on McKinney Butte Drive. The lot next to Ray’s Food Place is the site for suds and splashing at the student car wash. They will also be selling emergency first-aid kits at the entrance to Ray’s.
“Our Mandarin class is headed to Beijing, China in July with our teacher, David Perkins, and we’re really excited,” said senior Debra Vogt. “We’ve been planning and saving all year, raking pine needles and having bake sales. All the money we collect will help with transportation costs, meals and lodging while we’re there. We’ll also be visiting other high school students at the Yucai School and two orphanages. It will be an amazing opportunity to learn about the Chinese people and their interesting history and colorful culture.”
“We have a lot of incredible stuff to hunt through at the yard sale and our whole group is ready to make your car or SUV shine. It’s supposed to be a sunny day so hopefully we get a lot of people to come help us out and we guarantee you’ll go home with a nice clean car and some cool bargains.”
Ray’s Food Place is located at 635 North Arrowleaf Trail just off Highway 20. Sisters Community Church is located at 1300 W Mckenzie Hwy in Sisters. For more information call Debra at 541-549-4071.
