The Tower Theatre Foundation is turning up the tunes this July, starting with one of country music’s most expressive and distinctive vocalists, Lee Ann Womack, Sunday, July 10 at 8pm. Enjoy an evening with the award-winning singer-songwriter behind hits I May Hate Myself In The Morning, Last Call, I Hope You Dance and Mendocino County Line. Her new album, The Way I’m Livin’, received multiple Grammy nominations, in addition to five-stars from USA Today, and Rolling Stone wrote, “it feels like something Merle Haggard or Waylon Jennings would have crafted back in the seventies.”
On Saturday, July 16 at 8pm, David Benoit, one of the founding fathers of contemporary jazz, returns to the Tower, this time accompanied by bass and drums. The David Benoit Trio will present an evening of multi-dimensional arrangements with notable influence from Stephen Sondheim, Burt Bacharach, Dave Grusin, Leonard Bernstein, and of course, a nod to Peanuts composer Vince Guaraldi.
On July 22 at 8pm, prepare for a high energy, rhythmically-charged evening of acoustic, rock, and world music performed by Rusted Root. After performing at 4Peaks Music Festival last summer, the band returns to Bendto showcase their shape shifting musical freedom and virtuosity. In addition to songs off of their new album, The Movement, get ready to dance to hits like Martyr, Send Me On My Way and Ecstasy, to name a few.
