Experience a New Weekly Theme at High Desert Ranch
Slip back in time daily at the 1904 High Desert Ranch! It’s now occupied daily, and living history interpreters will feature a different theme each week throughout the summer.
This week, the theme is Preparing for Winter. In the High Desert, where it can go from sun to snow in a snap, it’s NEVER too early to start thinking about a smooth seasonal transition. Help tend the garden, learn about stocking the root cellar and more as we think ahead to snow.

Experience Immersive Exhibitions
Two amazing exhibitions await at the Museum!
First, stroll through a life-size diorama that takes you on a journey through the world of High Desert vaqueros—Latinx cowboys—brought to life with vibrant piñata paper. Vistas del Cielo—views from the sky—is artist Justin Favela’s take on the region’s landscape and Latinx heritage.
Next, see the intricate works from Native artists past and present—and learn how important they are to communities—in Creations of Spirit.
