The Sunriver Owners Association kicks-off this summer with the opening night of our free concert series, Turf Tunes, Sunriver Style. “Now in its fourth year, we are excited to open things up with Calico The Band on Sunday, July 5 at 5pm,” announced Chris Harrison, event manager, Sunriver Owners Association.
For many of us, Sunriver is synonymous with summer fun, and as we move toward summer this year, you may be asking, “What activities do you have scheduled?” A great question, but an even better question would be, “What don’t we have scheduled?” because this summer we have something for everyone.
In the midst of a national tour, Calico The Band visits the John Gray amphitheater at SHARC for their only Central Oregon appearance. Continuing Sundays at 5pm through August 16, look for the full Turf Tunes line up in the Sunriver Scene, throughout Bend and Sunriver and online at www.sunriverstyle.com.
On Monday, July 27, the Sunriver Owners Association is proud to present gospel icons The Blind Boys of Alabama, together with the Crescent City’s pre-eminent brass band pioneers, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, for a joyous night of southern spiritual music and New Orleans rhythms at SHARC’s John Gray amphitheater. Doors open at 6pm the show starting at 7pm.
Featuring individual band performances, as well as on-stage collaborations, the Down by the Riverside tour finds these two legendary artists sharing the stage for the first time. Tickets are available at www.bendticket.com.
On Sunday, August 23, SHARC ushers in the season with Shakespeare in the Park with the Northwest Classical Theatre Company’s production of The Comedy of Errors. Check in with the Members Office at SHARC for additional information or find tickets online at www.shakespearebend.com.
In September things continue to sizzle with a wine event, Uncorked, Sunriver Style. Slated for September 18-19, they’ve added even more this year to make an already great event amazing! “A Certified Sommelier, National Speaker and TV personality, Laurie Forster joins us this year as one of America’s leading wine experts and author of the award-winning book, The Sipping Point: A Crash Course in Wine,” says Harrison.
“Pairing nicely with Laurie’s comedy, Something To Wine About, we are excited to present an evening with the University of Oregon’s premier A Cappella group, On The Rocks. Be on the lookout for additional information on the website.
For updated information and a full schedule of activities, visit www.sunriverstyle.com. “If you’re new to Sunriver, welcome, we look forward to meeting you this summer at one (or all) of these events,” offers Harrison. “If you’ve been here before, come out and rediscover what makes Sunriver such an amazing place: YOU!”
