Oregon Senior Games Begin

Its official! The 2nd annual Oregon Senior Games (ages 50+) is happening in beautiful Central Oregon June 17-21, 2015. Details on each sporting event have been announced at www.oregonseniorgames.com. The games are an amazing opportunity for baby boomers to compete in a variety of sports with like-minded individuals in a fun, athletic and social atmosphere. Last year, over 500 athletes congregated in Bend to compete in 16 sporting events, many of which participated in multiple sports.The 2015 Oregon Senior Games will include 16 different sports, including swimming, shuffleboard, golf (at Broken Top and Brasada Ranch), pickleball, cycling, track & field, and more!

The Fermentation Celebration is a nod to our amazing craft beer industry in Central Oregon. Not only do our 29 local breweries have a tremendous economic impact on the community, but they produce some of the best craft beer and cider in the world. To enjoy the event, purchase a pint glass and tickets, and meander through all 29 beer stations located throughout Powerhouse Drive in the Old Mill District (immediately across the river from the Les Schwab Amphitheater). At each station you choose to visit, you can purchase a 4 ounce taste (1 taste = 1 ticket). Full pint pours from Deschutes Brewery will be available in Center Plaza.

Celebrating the creativity of the human spirit and the spectacular beauty of Central Oregon’s Smith Rock, the third annual Smith Rock Plein Air Paint Out is set for June 20th. The public is invited to watch as artists from across the Pacific Northwest participate in a timed plein air painting competition followed by a juried exhibition at the Redmond Municipal Airport/Roberts Field.
